1/72 Airfix Hawker Typhoon MkIb - the 'other' one Airfix do.

Post by MakingModelsAgain »

Built OOB except for a few wee scratch-built extras namely the Sutton seat harness, the rocket 'pig-tails', the nav lights and the antenna. Oh and a gunsight glass.

Went together quite well although I would say the way the wings attach is a tad over engineered and could (and sorta did) lead to some minor fit issues.

Very nice indeed, yes you may be right in your title, this will probably be overshadowed by it's bigger rival. The quality of your build prove's big does not alway's mean beautiful. Top work

Beautifull ! Nice detail on the 'pig-tails'on the rockets , a superb build again . Weathering just the necessary and beautifully done !

Agree when is mentioned that bigger isn't beautifull and it is the quality of the build that really matters

Well Done Gary ! Top Job !

See that you finally make a Typhoon , now to make one of the others , the annoying ones ;)
Cheers ,
António

Awesome work, lovely finish and detail particularly at 1/72 scale. I'm currently building the same model and have made a complete hash of the painting so am currently trying to strip it all off to start again. My airbrush doesn't give a consistent finish and splatters a lot unfortunately.

Look forward to your future builds.
