NON ISM - SIG just for half tracks? (Aug 20th to Dec 20th)

Post by Romerhys »

Nothing is certain, but I have recently acquired a sdkfz 251/17 ausf c (dragon) and would like to enter it into a SIG, however I cannot find a suitable SIG for my halftrack, so I'm thinking about starting my own SIG. I'm new to ISM and would like to know if anyone is interested, if we can develop this thread into a SIG I would be very excited to start this SIG. :)

Hi guys after speaking with Jos (Fokker DXXI) we have decided to both host this SIG; it will run from the 20th of August to the 20th of December, this will allow you to still acquire a kit if you haven't already got one. The rules are as follows; you can use any halftrack in any scale (any make etc), you can use any after market products, airbrushing is allowed and it has been be an unstarted kit
Thanks Rhys

THIS IS A NON ISM SIG

(I'm new to youtube as well, any advice would good!!!

Nice idea Rhys
But i think it would qualify as a SIG instead of a GB
But in the end that is about the same
Maybe there will be a vote for next years GB's and SIG's and this could be one of the options
I have some half tracks in my stash so for me it would be a good excuse to build one of my sd.kfz.251 kits or more then one as i have about 4 differnent sub types of that vehicle
So i would be in for this
Cheers Mark

Hi Rhys, yeah like Mark suggested, maybe as a SiG it will be included on next years builds voting list.....
I think Tiger88 Marcus suggested this the other night on a hangout with Paul...
the idea being an all variants of the 251..
With enough interest it could be a good SiG choice.. :th:
All the best... :thumb1:

I like this idea, but I think all halftracks should be allowed; there would be a greater variety that way.

True it would be a lot of the same
It would be awesome if you reach 251/1 up to 251/22 then you would have the whole range
But still a build with all kinds of half tracks would get more participants and more variation

I'm on holiday ATM until the 17th of this month, so considering it has over 840 parts I think it's a no go

Me and rhys have talked to each other about this SIG and we tought it was a good idea if we host it together. The idea behind this sig is that everyone can enter with any kind of halftrack in any scale. It starts on the 20th of August and it ends at the 20th of December. Plenty of time to build and get a kit.

I've had a Dragon sdkfz 251/17 ausf c for a while now, strangely, I was considering it for the next kit once I was finished the Kursk GB.

So I'll jump in.

You do not need a YouTube channel, but you do need to post pictures of the model kit before you start building it and after you start building it.

What's the differents between a GB and a SIG?
A GB is a more generic subject like let's say WWII wich means planes , ships , tanks and figures , so a lot of possible vehicles or subjects
a SIG is a more specific subject like in this case half tracks only
So it has less different subjects to choose from
