1/35 Italeri LCVP landing craft

Post by alextheblue »

Well, it wasn't quite what I was planning, but I was determined to get something across the finish line. The landing craft itself was great to build but the jeep and figures were absolute crapola, so I decided to bin them. Anywho, here's what I ended up with.

Well done to everyone that has entered this GB, there's some brilliant work and I've really enjoyed following all the threads. And finally, thanks to everyone who has taken the time to take a peek at my feeble offerings. :th:

Agree with DB. You got there. Fab painting. You can always add the rest later.

That's some really great weathering and rust effects Alex.

That's real nice Alex, a craft to be proud of. Mind you, me?, I loved the jeep and figures and I am now, entirely your fault (and Wappy's), the proud owner of a Tamiya jeep and a couple of figures that take pride of place in the stash...one day

Anyhoo, top job - you are the colourist supreme

Thanks Andy. :th:

When I say binned, they've been safely tucked away in a box and filed under, "Not likely to be finished anytime soon!" I'm sure they'll come in handy for something else though.

Thanks Mike! :th: Wasn't sure about adding rust - kept looking at it thinking, "exactly what bits are wood and what bits are metal - no idea!" In the end, I decided to use the "what-the-hell" strategy.

Thanks Rob! :th: Like the look of the Tamiya jeep, I hear it goes together a whole heap better than the Italeri one.

Up the Palace?? - what, Buckingham!! :D
