Sorry for being late to the party!! (even changed my avatar for this one...)
Was planning to join when 109 build is in paint stage, but a bit delayed due to all work and no play...
Also been staring on the Swedish part of my stash for a week now going which one? Which one!?
Then! I discovered that I'm probably going senile, cause I suddenly remembered that I had bought this kit w aftermarket just for this Homeland GB!
Or could it be the case that one orders to much stuff so one forgets what one buys!?....Naaa no way!
I'm doing one of the best fighters ever flying in the Swedish airforce, the P-51D Mustang or J26 as it was called in Swedish service.
This baby was truly loved by all pilots that flew it, many even missed it after transitioning to jets.
Quick facts about the J26:
It entered service in 1945, in total the SwAF had 161 Mustangs, it served until it was phased out when jets were introduced in the mid 1950-ties.
It was used in two versions, most as J26 (fighters) and a few as S26 (recon).
Most were sold to the Israeli, Nicaraguan, and Dominican republic airforces where they served on.
A few individuals are now restored and flying in the USA. One individual is left in the SwAF museum.
The rest You already now...
This kit is as well known and built as the P-51 itself, so on with some pics!

Im leaning towards this one, "Yellow Harald", I like the Yellow spinner, olive drab anti glare, and outlined markings.

All J26 were natural metal finish, except wings and control surfaces that were puttied and painted in "silver dope".
I will use Alclads.
