Just throwing in some claps and bows as i haven't seen any given for a while.... and boy, does this EPIC BUILD deserve some.....![]()
Jens you are putting us all to shame here, your use of ordinary bits and bobs puts even my scrap scratchbuilding to shame.... and i have turned some old recycled bits into usable items over the past few years... lol...
Its the card and photo paper walls and buildings i enjoy the most.... and the weathering.... all by brush..... all everyday items... No magic powders or washes or airbrushing..... Nope just Jens.... Bravo mate.....
Gonna nip down the bookies and place my bet soon...... Can you guess who my moneys on? lol...
Seriously though, this has, to date, been a most excellent thread to have followed... Long may it continue....
... But not too long as we need you to finish and reveal this masterpiece before the months out...![]()
Keep doing what you do.... All the best my friend..![]()
hansolo wrote:Wow!
What a build.
I make a deep bow to your amazing scratch building skills!!![]()
And of course your modeling and weathering skills!!![]()
So much fine and detailed work is a pleasure to watch.
Always48 wrote:beautiful work as always Jens, i so look forward to your updates and im especially looking forward to the pic that places it all together. When you do post it as complete i think you definitely need to post pics of the individual items so they dont get lost in the awesomeness of it all. i know it will be a picture that will take away hours of our lives just absorbing it all like a true piece of art.

wappynutter wrote:Just gonna be lazy and copy and paste my comment from Google+....
Not only is this gonna be EPIC.... It's gonna be a full 360' experience diorama with something for everybody to enjoy.. Your gonna need to set it on a turntable but I reckon it's going to be too big to rotate... Lol... Continued success Jens.... Awesome stuff mate.. :0)
I think my comment sums up the greatness of a fully immersive dio... Would be good if it did rotate though..![]()
Continued awesomeness Jens..![]()

TheTroyster wrote:Brother, don't be showing off that diorama too much - save the suspense for your final reveal - IMO.

The discoloration of the bricks is really missing yet. Can't wait to see it completed!
Maybe some dark wash or lighter color drybrush on the bricks of the broken wall, some residue of the bound material (mortar?), I think there are some more details waiting for getting revealed there.
Simon6483 wrote:Some more excellent work Jens. Love the door and the work on the roof is excellent.

Always48 wrote:You have got to teach me how you weather things so gradually it is beautiful. loving the little touches like the graffiti on the walls

Always48 wrote:And there i was thinking you shrink yourself down to 1:35th scale to do everything so perfectly. lol
Thanks for the detailed explanation on your painting style. im trying to modulate more on edges that would catch the light but hadnt thought about doing on larger panels. I'm going to have to try a vehicle as ive a nice fuel tanker i want to do for a diorama with a mustang in the future.
I totally understand how you feel about getting it finished, i was like that a few days ago and had to fight the urge to rush the end. But im glad im done now. going to take a break for a few weeks from the bench and think about the next GB - Pacific theatre.... So tempted to do a section of the big E...hmm 4mths - reckon that would be way to short. plus i need a few years modeling under me belt to do something like that justice.

Morituri te salutant, caesar! Honestly it isn't that bad! It works quite well and the area isn't too large. Some good music along with it and off ya go! My mojo is questionable, but I kick me own arse every quarter of an hour. That works. LOL! Thank you so much, my friend! And continued success!wappynutter wrote:Damn....
