Kitchen roll

Post by Kevthemodeller »

Hi all

Can someone recommend a make of kitchen roll?

Stuff I'm using is releasing tiny fibres which are being deposited in the airbrush cup and then into the paint :eeek:

I use the stuff they have at Lidl, basic bog standard and cheap. Never had this problem at home. Did have a similar effect at work using TORK Roll single ply.
Damm the glue is getting to me

I use the blue "shop towel" type. Much more expensive, but I cut it into quarters and each roll last 6 months or more.

Because the top of the line stuff is rated for its absorption it has a looser fiber structure. the cheap stuff is more like recycled newspaper print and is tough as nails..

Because it was half price @ Tesco's the other week and thus cheaper than their cheapo home brand

Mate that's the very stuff I've been using look in the bottom right hand corner of the packet :eeek: :eeek: :eeek:

In one of my earlier posts I stated in was Bounty I was wrong (now corrected) it was Plenty, Bounty is now Plenty, I would seriously check before you use it. I found the fibres were getting into the airbrush bowl 2 ways, when is was wiping the brush that I used to clean the bowl out, it was picking up tiny (I mean tiny) fibres from the surface and when wiping the bowl with a sheet. I simple test is get hold a a sheet hold it up to the light or against a dark background and agitate the sheet you can see the fibres 100's of them :eeek: did the same test with the cheaper stuff and almost none :th:

That's about the same price I pay for this stuff at Lidl.

It shows a special price which is actually the normal retail price..

I can second Smiffy, I've been using this for over a year now, it's mega strong and NEVER leaves any bits/lint behind.

I had the same problem with this stuff, small fibres everywhere. I've since bought some cheap blue rolls of of eBay, much much better

Oh oh
I get my kitchen roll from the 99p store ,more roll for your money and the squares are bigger, the better brand I used to use used to fall apart when it got damp and used to take my washes off.
Not the best , but I'm learning something new everyday, I'm a sucker for detail may take me longer to do something but it will be done to high level of detail to my abilities :cheers2:
