Polar Lights 1/24 Ecto 1 from Ghostbusters

Post by Aliktren »

My first ever inbox review so be gentle with me :)

I got this kit for Christmas a while back, I had not realised when I bought it that it was a snap together otherwise I might have been a bit more cautious, but having got it I was always excited to build it and got the Paragrafix PE set some time ago as well to go with it and it was left in the stash.

So i have decided to get going with this kit now as it it relatively simple to build and I need some mojo back, plus of course cars and bikes are the de rigeur for ISM this year it seems :)

This kit is on scalemates here :
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/265387- ... ers-ecto-1

the Photoetch is here :

http://www.paragrafix.biz/product_detai ... Num=PGX164

and can still be bought on amazon (or other retailers!) for example here :

so without further ado, here are the pics

Nice box shaped box which actually is very full inside so a bit of a PITA when taking it out and putting it back...

all the contents...

everything is in little bags which is nice... here is the main body

and everything else...

here is a closer look at the body, it seems a little soft to me but I dont have a lot of car kits to compare it to, and there is no way it would look good without being painted IMHO

very basic internal detailing....

you do get stickers, yikes, but also decals, phew!!

and some pretty straightforward instructions.....

and here is the PE set and instructions

overall a nice if basic kit, I will be stripping the chrome and painting everything, frankly if this is really suposed to be a snap kit I would have been pretty disappointed with it but with some normal model treatment and a complete spray job I think it should look pretty cool and there are some nice pictures in ISM and elsewhere to support that view.
stuff is being built... very slowly....
