Time to do some more work on this
I decided to strip the chrome parts in bleech which is a first for me
It went really well after about 2 hours it was all striped so then it was rinsed and left over night to dry
The wheels were then assembled primed in Ultimate black primer, painted up in Mr metal color chrome silver with the centre hubs on the rear wheels picked out in the black grey mix and gloss coated.
The spare wheel was then glued on with CA glue and the road wheels were dry fitted
Now to start on the cab itself with it being in 5 pieces i'm guessing it's going to be a little tricky so i think time and patients are in order to start with i got all the parts cleaned up The insides primed in grey primer there were 6 holes to be drilled out in the roof
They were then painted in Revell 374 grey silk matt and tamiya X-18 semi gloss black and when dry clear coated
While that was all drying i primed and painted up the door panels along with some decals, the overhead storage, the grab handles and the second bed.
Paints used for these are
Revell 378 dark grey silk matt
Tamiya XF-24 dark grey
Tamiya X-18 semi gloss black
Revell 374 grey silk matt
Revell 47 mouse grey
The door panels were then fitted to the sides
Just to finish this section off I CA glued the front of the cab to the roof
That is all for now thanks for taking a look and for your comments
Now with the windows in and masked off the outside got a coat of Ultimate black primer
The second bed was then painted up the same as the first one and then attached
the overhead storage was the glued in place
At this point i decided to test the zeropaint i had got for this williams fw24 blue and i must say i was very impressed how it sprayed so i will be using more in the future
Right the part i was not sure of doing and it looking right putting the cab together this was done over several days letting each part dry for a day before adding the next
in the end it went together pretty well
just to finish off this section i cleaned up and primed some of the trim pieces
that is all for now thanks for taking a look and for your comments
Beautiful stuff, progressing very well. Love the cab colour and chassis looks so solid and realistic
Mine you say???, ya well, it is still in the box with an unpainted engine block=step 1
