wookiees peggy su 27.

Post by wookiee76 »

It's Russian, did anyone expect me not to take part! For this build i will be using the drool worthy hobbyboss 1:48 kit and a first for me, a whole bunch of aftermarket including some or fewer parts torn from the edademy kit i built last year.
John, whats on my bench? Usually a mess and a couple of different models a week.

Well, here, for me at least, is the big pile of aftermarket i will be using for this build, begemot decals, reskit rocket launchers, armory unguided missile racks, aires engines, brassin wheels, a pitot tube and some as yet undetermined bits ripped from the eduard version i built last year including the seat.
Made a start with the cockpit, primed with Ultimate grey primer then ak cockpit turquoise followed by picking out all the details with a really small brush. Some drybrushing with a lightened shade of cockpit colour then a dark dirt Ultimate wash.

Made a start on the boat load of ordnance, kit missiles in white, resin rocket pods and got the unguided missiles together, those tail fins were interesting! Also got the majority of the landing gear together, a mix of kit and eduard brassin.

The rest of the topside painted, just the nozzles and underside metallic bits left. Then to finish off the ordnance, gear, gear doors and decals before weathering.

Decals on and both types behaved themselves with no silvering and sunk into the panel lines easily, as the paint was glossy to start with i didn't bother with a clear coat.

Thanks Antonio, next up was one of those stages that look really impressive but take surprisingly little effort or talent, using Ultimate dark dirt to pick out all the surface detail, brush on, wipe off with dampened kitchen roll and job done!

Done quite a bit of work on the engines and can't quite remember how but i think after the steel colours and inks it went, rust wash, burnt iron on nozzles, gunmetal pigment, steel pigment, oily steel wash and finally black oil wash or something like that. Also whilst looking at pictures i spotted that the chaff dispensers should be steel so repainted and washed those. Next up is flat coat and pastel/pigments for the main airframe.
