Damn threads about supermarket carrier bags, gets you hooked overtime, bought an ALDI robust carrier bag recently, works every-time .
Seriously, have this kit too and will be following this thread closely Paul, only extra I've bought for it so far is the Eduard precision cut canopy mask that should be here Monday.
Great stuff on a great kit

Re: Tamiya 1/32 Vought Corsair F4u-1 video build eModels.co.
Its really is great, got a real bad habit of taking my hand out of shot even with a marker on my cutting mat. Some parts require real concentration and i forget to look at my (now) two video screens.ccc1970 wrote:only about 15mins into part 2 but so far loving the new camera angle, really gets us right in there
I think ill bring the over head closer to my body, and move the wide view camera for part 4 and see what thats does.
Part 3 is already filmed and was nearly fully edited ( three hours in ) and then imovie decided to close itself losing my nearly fully edited footage, gutted lol, will start editing it again later

1 question, when you have smaller parts on cocktail sticks do you glue it on or use blutac to hold it ?

No, i cut the end of the cocktail stick flush then a small dab of superglue on the end and stick it to a part that wont be seen on the finished modelMcLeod wrote:Good vid, like the new camera angle too.

Re: Tamiya 1/32 Vought Corsair F4u-1 video build eModels.co.
That was magic.
You build any more of these and I won't be able to call you big guy anymore.
I'll have to call you skinnyman with the Popeye forearms.
It was a hell of a lot of work but the result was just amazing.
Again...
Frak!
That was the most spectacular show and tell of a kit, product, and a method that I've ever seen.

Great stuff Paul
I'll have to try that chipping technique ... I wonder if a soft used toothbrush trimmed back a bit would be helpful in getting the desired chipping effect when you mentioned using a stiffer brush?

While I was cleaning up the seams on my BF109 I was watching this.
A few times I considered just pitching mine straight into the bin and taking up origami as a hobby.
Paul this cockpit is the best thing I've seen you do buddy. It's damn near perfect.
If this is what you can do to a beautifully made cockpit... what will you be able to do to the rest of the plane.

Another great instalment Paul, enjoyed watching that
I'll have to invest in more tools like those Tamiya etch scissors and diamond file ... also I use Johnson cotton buds but where do you get those fine tip ones?
Looking ahead was thinking one more extra I'll get for my kit will be resin weighted tyres, there is a build up of this kit in the current issue of Tamiya magazine, the guy did a stunning job but as it was all OOB he used the kit rubber tyres and the seam down the middle clearly shows.
Cheers.

The pointy cotton buds are tamiyas ones, not cheap but very handy for getting in tight spaces.
I'll have a close look at those tyres and see what can be done to them.

Q-Tip makes pointy tipped cotton buds and they aren't too expensive. That's what I use.
I don't know if Q-Tip is available in Europe or the UK though.
