Post by jdart58 »

Hi all,

I'm building Hobbyboss's flanker which I picked up yesterday at telford.

I've got all of my paints and aftermarket on the way so hopefully that will be here soon so I can start the build.

After 10 days of the SU buddy build, I've made a fair bit of progress given that I've been at school

Firstly, I primed the cockpit, pilot and jet exhausts

I then got to work on the cockpit and pilot

Then, I glued the cockpit in and closed up the fuselage halves

I finally glued the vertical stabilizers together

I'm absolutely loving this build and this is a great (not so) little kit!

Given that it is a month since my last post, you would probably expect that I haven't been doing much with my su. I have... I've just been posting my photos on Facebook.

Here are all of the pictures that I have posted on Facebook which sum up my build so far:

So firstly, I put the whole thing together, filled the tiny amount of gaps and rescribed
Image

I then primed the whole model, painted it in the lighter blue, masked up and painted the darker blue and faded the paint.
Image

I then masked up the area for spraying the exhausts. It was masked up a little more than this!
Image

A gloss coat was applied and I 'decaled' the model
Image

I then applied a Ultimate dark dirt wash. The model was then put onto its landing gears which took the weight

Finally, I did some work on the ordinance

Hopefully, the model will be done by the 24th. Lovely kit and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying it

I have finally finished my Su-27! Here are a few photos from the final stages of my build.

So firstly, I finished spraying up my missiles
Image
And then gave them a bit of a dark dirt wash
Image
Next, I put them on the pylons and was effectively finished after putting a matt coat on

I'll put up some final reveal pictures up soon.
Thanks for looking
