Guy's Eduard 1/48th F-4C Good evening Da Nang

Post by GuyMac »

Calling this one done.
It was a fun build but the PE was hard to get right as it was the first time I used PE
Resin was OK. Not that hard to handle.
Used MrHobby acrylics, some Tamiya and some Revell Acrylics. X-22 gloss coating and Tamiya panel line wash. Overall a wash of Ultimate light and dark dirt
Anyway here are some of my pictures, taken by my phone so not that great quality. In reality it looks not that bad :-)

Ehrm well... 9 F-4's :shhh: , Harrier, Aircraft Carrier, King George, F-5, F-14, Lancaster, Eurofighter which I'll never ever will build as I don't like the jet  , B-17G, Jaguar jet, and some other stuff ...
Try to get the Stuka finished this week.
And started the 1/72 Academy Tomcat after these three group builds I did (F-4, SU and Stuka) the last five months, I wanted to do something easy - no stress.
On may first Darren, Scott and myself will start building our Tamiya 1/48 Skyraider as a kind of little buddy build.

The things I've learned by doing these group builds are
- they cause stress when nearing the deadline. I don't like stress when building models. I start to rush things and thus ruining previous work on that model. It has to be fun.
- They can drain your mojo. Deadline thing again
- I'm a slow builder so 3 months is way too short for me. There are days I don't feel like building and so it is even slower... :shifty:
- I need to select group builds, sigs, etc...carefuly. Not participating in all of them and just watch other people progress is OK also :pop:

And now : Quite some kits in the stash and no idea what to build next  After the Skyraider I will start building another Phantom   ...
... or one of the ships I have
... or some kit I don't have in the stash now but might be in it by the end of may (my birthday month) :violin:
