So at 11:23 am, I started on this:

I hope this isn't disappointing! And don't let the price scare you away, that's $9.99 Canadian and I think it may have been on sale. So that's what, $1.98 American?
Just one "sprue":

And a one sheet "Assembly Flow Chart":

One of the reasons to pick this up was I had hoped I'd be able to get some PE experience before attempting it on a "real" model. But alas, as many of you surely know, this bears little resemblance to PE. It's not brass, there's no glueing (just slot and tab) and no cutting (the attachment points are so small and hard to get at, the only thing to do is just bend them off). The only good practice I got was bending! Which in the end, along with the general fun of the build, was probably worth it.
The "build" went very fast, and probably would have been faster if I had followed the "Flow Chart" more closely (I had to back up and redo a couple of bits). So by 1:13 pm I had completed and taken my first photo! The final photo was taken at 1:24, 2 hours and 1 minute after I started!!
Once completed, I was left with this really nice memento of a fun and fairly relaxing morning's effort.

If you've never given these a try, I suggest you do. They have lots of subjects and I'm sure you can find one to suit your tastes.
