Airfix Supermarine Spitfire mkvb

Post by bfrd »

I did decide to call it a day on my Spitfire. Build thread is here. As with all (of my) models it isn't perfect. The flaws just scream out to me, but from a distance it looks great. As long as I had fun doing it, I can live with the imperfections. This model had a lot of firsts for me; first Airfix, first Spitfire, first cammo, and first model with multiple clear coats. I think I fixed the decal issue well and am proud of how that turned out. Overall, I am happy. I can't wait for my Ultimate order to finally arrive so I have some proper washes. Hopefully soon. I think my biggest dumb-ass moment was right at the end when I sprayed the entire model with Vallejo Matte and didn't cover the clear parts.:

Any constructive criticism is appreciated. Or, just hurl insults; that works too.

That's a fine job. What paint did you use for the Dark Earth?
