Choosing the right Rosie Riveter

Post by mincemeat »

Hey Fellas!

I'm currently building the Airfix Bf 109 E-4 and came to the conclusion that the exterior surface is quite plain. I was looking at the Rosie the Riveter tools as those seem to be the ones to go with, however, I'm quite lost on which one to choose.: I don't want to buy all of them marked 1:48 as they are a bit pricey.

I can't seem to find any resources on:
1) The distance between rivets on a Bf109 or
2) What riveter tool should be used for what aircraft

This was the best lead I could find, but just because he is using it, doesn't mean it's correct. https://scwsig.wordpress.com/2017/05/03 ... og-part-3/ However, I'll go with it if all else fails.

Thanks!

Also found this, but unfortunately it is more of a "how to". http://riveter.wz.cz/SBS.pdf

I have the the 0.55, 0.65 and 0.75 but tbh I find the difference between them minimal, to the point when I am considering selling the 0.55 and 0.75

What I have found useful is getting the single, double and triple wheels, you can obviously use the single to do two/three lines but using the double and treble wheels result in much more consistent lines, so I would recommend those over the different sizes :th:

Thanks Shepp I appreciate your thoughts. I wouldn't mind a few more comments, but I may go with your suggestion.

In the UK you can get them from Models R Go (http://www.modelsrgo.co.uk/modelling-to ... eting.html), but I got mine from the US from UMM-USA ((https://umm-usa.com/onlinestore/index.p ... 4299bfae50) as they were the only place that had all the ones I wanted in stock at the time
