1/48 scale diorama 'Tiger I in Kursk'

I decided to entry in a very late entry in this GB , with a small build of a Tiger I early production depicting a unit of the 2nd Pz Regiment in Kursk , also I will add a Sdkfz 232 recon vehicle and try to do a small diorama using two kits from Tamiya in 1/48 scale





I started this two days ago ...

the sprues bagged in the box (Tiger I early production)



Die cast Hull , usual in 1/48 kits from Tamiya











The fun begins ...whells lot of them

Fun also, to assembly the tracks , it brings a small tool in the sprues to help us to do tis,not to hard to do but something to do very carefull











then glue the upper hull and all the stuff , easy to folloew instructions







Tiger ready , go for the SFkfz

Again if you follow instructions, a very easy and nice kit to do in some hours



Now I primed all with Tamiya Prier , and start painting dark yellow using Mr.Hobby Dark Yellow Modulation set

Looking good buddy, I've looked at the 1/48th stuff but never made any , maybe tempted to get a couple

Looking excellent, I love the idea you got going on here, I might have to combine a Tiger 1 with the Sd. Kfz. 232 in 1/35 scale. Definitely interested to see more.

I left thi tread some days ago doing the painting on the vehicles , now I added the dark Green Camo





Some figures that I have around , the left box was new , just bought it for some diorama and never used , the other I used it almost all in a diorama , still some Panzer crewman will do the job here



assembled them and place them on the Tiger ...will be something like this



also prepared a small base , a photo frame and some poliesterene , will do the job ...



Some textured plaster



painted the figures all Tamiya paints



Also the SDkfz commander ...



Some Greens , flowers and bushes will do the vegetation



This base is small and even I thought to do now only one vehicle ...

This Tiger has some Chinese carachters in his markings ...lucky charm , or some influence on the tank commander who seems to have a wife/Girlfriend Chinese ...don't know how true this is or not







Added the steel cables on the armour









Some oils wash ...I will not do it very dirty , maybe some Buff later to depicy dust ...
