Lotus Type 49 - Rob Walker Racing - Ebbro 1/20

Post by OlaHansson »

Time for my next model :)

Lotus 49 by Ebbro
Scale 1/20
Used 1967-70
Versions: Lotus 49, 49B & 49C
Engine: Ford DFV
Tyres: Firestone

Primer: Ultimate Grey and black
Coat: Zero Paint Rob Walker Racing Dark Blue - ZP-1153
Clear: Zero Paint ZP-3003
Alu, chrome and silver: Vallejo Metal Colors

Great model to build!
Shows that Ebbro is connected to Tamiya in some way!
Lots of detailled parts, took a little time to put some of them one by one and wait for the glue to work before next part.
Specially the rear suspension (still got some parts to do there)

From the box possible to build in 5 diffrent versions mostley difference in windscreens and decales.
(I have one more in my stash)
I got decales from Indycals and made it for Rob Walker Racing with driver Jo Siffert.
1968, Jarama
Pole - 10th
Fastest lap - 9th
Race - DNF

Wow - now that's a real classic!

Great work on the detailing so far as well - can't believe how quickly you're churning these out especially with the level of quality as well!
Cheers, Neil

Thanks all :th:

Clearcoate and windscreen on.
And some more chrome parts

Lots of small parts, hard to put in exact right position...
I do not think the car will be completely straight

Just the tyres left for the weekend

Thought this would take time to build...
I could have done it more time consuming, part by part and let it dry before next.
But onca I started it was a pretty easy build.
The rear suspension was a bit tricky and was a bit nervrecking!
