Two new features added

There are two site additions added for this week.

1. In the UCP you can now set how many topics you want to see in one page as well as how many posts per page. Currently 25 threads will be shown per page and 10 posts.

This feature can be found in the tab "Board Preferences" and then "Edit display options"

2. Users will now be able to "mention" other users in a post in order to send a notification. In order to use this feature simply type the "@" sign and then type a username. The system should give you a prompt after the first few letters. For example: [mention]Paul[/mention] will notify the boss-man of this post.

I did notice something with the "mention" functionality. Even if you know the username of the person you wish to mention, you still need to select the name from the pop-up menu. If you just type @ and the name it will not work. After you are finished typing you should see bbcode that looks like this:

You could type that out by hand, but the short-cut menu is probably much faster.

I have just posted a thread and went to do a tag, just for example trying to tag Paul just came up with around 50 different Pauls so unless you know which one you want to tag your up the creek without the paddle. There again it's maybe me being thick again.

Unfortunately there isn’t much I can do about that part. I can see if I can add the flag or avatar to help identify the user, but that is all. This site doesn’t use a “real name”. Perhaps I can filter for users that haven’t logged in lately.

Open to other ideas.

I'm not sure what the issue is tbh? I just tried typing Paul and although there were a lot they were all unique so you could easily find the one your looking for and if you know them well enough to tag them in something I'm sure you would know their username
