Chiefs Tamiya 1/12 Ducati 916

Post by chief5437 »

hi guys :hi:

all done with this. another kit that I've really enjoyed building (well, right up to the last moment!).

typical tamiya, no real problems to speak of. i messed up at the end though. didn't let the gloss fully cure before fitting the body panels. as i was struggling with one, i managed to get my dabs nicely imprinted in the gloss. polished it out as much as I'm prepared to do, so I'm going to live with it. you cant see unless you have a proper close look, so on the shelf it looks fine

anyway, on with the pics!

that's it, lessons learned (and probably forgotten). ive got another bike kit to get started!!

thanks for looking in :cheers2: :cheers2:

Cheers Barry, it’s the kit forks on this, I’d like to try those detail up forks though.👍

Been there and done that....TWICE! :wall: :bash: :bash: I can't notice it at all in your photos, so it's only you that has to make your peace with it :thumb1:

That red on the bike stand is really in your face isn't it!?! Tamiya X-7 right? Did you clear it afterwards? I feel like it's punching me in the eyes!!

The white is a nice change form the normal red associated with Ducati, turned out great

yeah, its x-7 over white. sprayed with aquagloss. it shows the difference to the frame which was x-7 over black. :th:

Really nice build! I really like the white on red and the minor color variations within the detailing of the parts.

If they didn't, they should have made one like this.
