Best line to hang LARGE model planes from ceiling?

Post by RobRomero »

I’m looking for the best line to hang LARGE model planes from ceiling with the following qualities.

-Strong
-Invisibility (due to thinness or transparency like Fishing Line? -If this is what you recommend what thickness or weight?)
-Flexibility to tie knots
-Not too expensive
-Other considerations you might think are important?

Also, what kind of glue would you recommend glue to “seal” tied knots .

Thanks!

haven't done it since I was a kid as well, had planes and helicopters hung all over the damn place!!

I always used 3lb test line (fishing line), plenty for models. And 3lb is pretty dang thin. :thumb2:

And to answer your ?'s, I would weigh the model(s), then choose an appropriate line, and I used CA on the knots... hopefully someone with more "professional" type experience will chime in - but my friends thought I had the coolest room in the world, I mean, c'mon, an A110 Warthog and a couple of Apache helicopters flying in your room (among others...)
