Hello evryone

Post by baztheoldguy »

Hello to every one on the site, my name is Barrie (hence the tag user name ) I am 66 years old and have been model making since I was about 8. Way back then it was small Airfix kits in plastic bags and a stapled sheet with illustrations and instruction folded over the top of the bag. They were great fun and in the day very good quality. Decades have past and I now scratch build all my models from plastic sheet with the odd addition of kit parts, I use evergreen rod and tube and many other household objects to complete my builds.
I have been lucky enough to have had my models on display in my local hobby shop and have sold over 50 models in the last 8 years, I will try to build almost anything the largest I have built is a six foot Sulaco space craft and the widest was a 1/6th scale batwing. Here are a few of my models for you to take a look at. I have just completed a full size pulse rifle seen in the film aliens. Please let me know what you think and be honest as this will help me in the future to build better modles.

regards Barrie ( the old guy )

Wow! Definitely walk us thru your next build please! How about a wider view of the Nautilus model? You may be a crap image poster but your modeling looks very impressive.

Wow Baz, how can you work on something that small? I do not know how you can even see something that tiny. Of course I'm kidding.... I like building in larger scales too... like 1/18 and larger, but nothing close to the items you are creating.

Welcome to the forum, I believe you will really like it here (good blokes).

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Ben
