Out of Comfort Zone: TwoKids/ Scott choices

Post by Twokidsnosleep »

As master BFRD has done, I shall list my projects to choose my torture.
Each project has time comittments and their own special hell as to why I avoid them.

Mac Truck From Convoy movie:
Image
Built the ERTL kit as a little kid(poorly). There is no new kit, I have to scavenge and modify a kit to make this and hopefully find the trailer and the damn duck for the hood ornament
Image
Image
Image

Alfa Romeo Rebuild:
This is a Pocher 1/8 scale garage find glue bombed kit I have coming from eBay.
Image
It looks in nasty shape and needs a clean and full tear down. Huge amount of repair and scratch work to make it shine.
There I have her home now
Image
The car is absolutely stunning when completed
Image
Image

Floatplane Diorama:
This is a cool and simple kit but the challenge is to duplicate the float plane dock scene I remember from Green Lake in Whistler when we were golfing at Nicklaus North.
Image
Image

Black Pearl POTC pirate ship:
Do I need to say anything about this?
Image

Image
Daunting kit, it is apparently inaccurate for the decking layout and needs to be modified.
Would be cool to have some figures on deck as well

Surfer girl and her van:
Yes interesting diorama challenge and painting a female figure without making her look like bozo the clown

Sorry mate, but it was the obvious choice. The truck and float plane are close to what you always do and you know the last pic combi girl is way past your fitness level...

So I built the Samba bus last year but I know there are things I could have done better - I'd like to see how you would do with it.

No one deserves to put themselves through as many glue bombs as you have already!😂

It was between the float plane and the VW bus for me. I've always loved both for whatever reason but I went with the plane.

Anybody else getting excited about starting another huge modelling project in September??

Image

Funny I named the ship wrong in my poll…Black Pearl, not Swan

I think my resin printed guys will work in scale for this. Just lots to modify

Maybe Black Swan taking place on the Black Pearl? Ballet on a pirate ship? It could work nicely!
