This is a second hand kit and some parts are off the sprue, but nothing is painted or glued. So if no one objects I shall make some progress on this. No after market just a OB build nothing fancy.
I have a couple of other builds to tidy up first.

Sweet......can't wait to be finished seeding so I can finish a few things. It's easy when your tired to just glue a few parts together, but painting is a totally different ball game. I always feel like I need at least a free hr to pick up the airbrush.Twokidsnosleep wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 2:55 amHe is joking, you are good to go here

Yes the boat is depicted under water and that accounts for the jagged edges. I couldn't find this camo by google anywhere. Yet I do remember the navy at least trying it out for use around the islands. More typical I believe was shades of grey and black patterns and even red.WordenB wrote: Thu May 12, 2022 5:55 pm Very interesting. Excuse my ignorance but I am assuming that the mottled look on the box art is the artist's attempt at reflection rather than a cammo scheme?

Well I never, thank you Digger.digger303 wrote: Fri May 13, 2022 5:27 amYes the boat is depicted under water and that accounts for the jagged edges. I couldn't find this camo by google anywhere. Finished seeding today and still well thank you.Garion77 wrote: Sat May 14, 2022 11:50 am I can't believe I miss the start of this one ! Hope you're doing well and have finish the seeding. Are you going to do the camouflage pattern on it as well ?

Happy for you that you've finish your hard work ! Didn't touch it for a long time on my side !! Same for my Mig. Since my last update I only had time to prime the tube at the front. The only thing left for me to do on it. May be today. But I have so much to do around the house before our trip in July. And just finished sanding and staining my mom's patio. If I could squeeze only an hour or two to finish it and take pictures of it. As you can see, that's why I didn't enter in the Maritime GB...even if I received all my extras I had plan for itdigger303 wrote: Sat May 14, 2022 3:44 pmFinished seeding today and still well thank you.Garion77 wrote: Sat May 14, 2022 11:50 am I can't believe I miss the start of this one ! I'm not going to do the camo depicted on the box, but a black and grey which was the more usual.
ps....Back to the Pflaz tomorrow is the plan.

Dropped the Pfalz tpday. Broke the tail rudder and under carriage strut....repairable, but it knocked my mojo about.Garion77 wrote: Sun May 15, 2022 12:56 pmHappy for you that you've finish your hard work ! Thanks, yes it wasn't too bad and is all fixed barring some paint work.aur0ra145 wrote: Tue May 17, 2022 2:27 am Unfortunate about the Pfalz. Hopefully it goes back together easily.

Thank you, I don't like the thin skinny plastic muchTomcat64 wrote: Sun May 29, 2022 5:34 pm That's a lot of little fiddly bits, but the whole thing looks great![]()
Scare me too and one section of base coat is on. It's almost the same color as the primer. Just gotta wait a another day before I mask it.RangerNeil wrote: Sun May 29, 2022 7:33 pm Looking at the size - if thats 1/144 its scared the hell out of me as regards the 1/72 Type VIIC.
Looking good though Digger - looking forwards to seeing the paint go on.
They are , but I think I like the German ones more. They aren't so sleek as this one. Maybe British boats might be as interesting, but I haven't seen many of those.

Thanks, but I'm not really loving it and can't wait to finish it.

I had a nose on ScaleMate out of curiosity - you can get the K, M and R class pre-war/WW2 submarines but only in 1/350. Pity because the M class would be an interesting one with those two dirty great guns.digger303 wrote: Mon May 30, 2022 12:54 amThey are , but I think I like the German ones more. All those classes would be cool. I like the M class with the aircraft ( think that would be a big seller ) and the R10RangerNeil wrote: Mon May 30, 2022 11:12 amI had a nose on ScaleMate out of curiosity - you can get the K, M and R class pre-war/WW2 submarines but only in 1/350. ThanksTomcat64 wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 11:27 am It's a real shame you lost that lovin' feeling for this build as I think it looks great!
There's always going to be things that jump out at you that the rest of us wouldn't pick up though.
It does look great (if a little precarious) up on that fence post though![]()
ThanksTwokidsnosleep wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:43 pm Looks just fine, periscopes down
I am waiting for the "after shotgun" photo with her perched up there on the fence post like a fish out of water![]()
