Here’s my “naked” version of Trumpeter’s 1:48 MiG-3 early
The “idea” was to show the materials used to build these aircraft metal, wood and linen.
I’ve used a large slice of “artistic licence” while representing the plywood panels, I’ve no idea how the “real” panels would be so I’ve shown them as, more or less, fixed width panels.
Paints used:
Stynylrez black and white primers
MRP - wood and linen
Xtreme metal - NMF
Akan & vallejo - interior
Wood decals - Uschi van der Rosten
Montex masks for cockpit glazing
Resin:
Quickboost - prop & spinner, exhaust & undercarriage covers
Reskit - wheels & tyres
Eduard PE - seat harness & instrument panel
This is the first time, that I can remember anyway, building a Trumpeter kit and I must say that I’m impressed and wouldn’t have any qualms attempting one of their kits if they had a particular aircraft that I wanted to build.
If you want to build one of these I can highly recommend massimotessitori’s reference site…

Anywho, enough waffle here’s the photo’s…
