Its really interesting and easy to use. Just flatten some on a panel, then knife cut around it and peel off. The paint comes off a bit on the edges too, giving it a worn metallic look. I plan on using it a lot on future builds.

Wings glued on. Primed. Detailing / shading up before grey coat goes on.

Thanks guys.

It's now mostly one piece, and painted, and all lights working, they just need a bit of a tune up and viola.

The foil on the wings turned out great, because after scribing the panel lines a bit, the paint flaked away leaving the metal exposed in a few areas. It gives it a real kick. There's still a massive amount of detailing and weathering to be done.

The fuel tank and missiles are all attached with magnets.

There's still a lot to do, but here are some photos of it looking like an F15.

My favourite part of modelling is the finishing, adding detail, weathering, making it look real, with whatever materials or techniques are suitable.

With this, Ive so far been working on the metal foil at the nozzle end, and giving one wing a very light black wash to the seams. I'll gloss it over before decals, then do more weathering.

The aluminium foil tape has impressed me so much I can see myself using it on every model I make.

After some more detailing, mostly with vajello black thinned with lots of water and then a very fine sandpaper sponge to remove it from the panels, leaving the lines black.

Made the display stand from 18cm long by 1cm diameter clear acrylic rods and 5mm clear sheet as the base. Magnets screwed on the top of the clear rods connect to very strong magnets glued inside the fuselage, resulting in an excellent bond between plane and stand.

Thanks, all that work is starting to pay off.

All the major parts are glued on to the plane - missiles and fuel tank attached with magnets - and all decals applied.

Here it is on the stand. Its very big and hard to get a good photo. These are pics of the stand more than anything else. It turned out pretty good and does the job.

Still a lot of tidy up and detail work to be done, and missiles to be completed, but its coming together and looks impressive on the stand, even more so with the lights on.

Ps. I didn't realize it was a 1/24 typhoon, I was thinking it was a 1/48. The f15 is freaking huge.

Yes. I thought the Typhoon was big size, until I started putting this thing together. A very impressive display piece. I can appreciate the guys over on Large Scale Planes and all the outstanding work they do on some of those monsters.

and everyone here, of course...

This was quite a project with the lighting. Finished result I think looks really nice up on the stand.

Here are the photos of the finished model.
