With the foremast done, I spent a Friday morning working on the main mast in the middle

All the deadheads are laced up, the shroud lines cut and stained and two shouts tied in

Five more to go each side

I reckon you will be able to actually sail that thing by the time you're done!

More excellence on show

Supposed to be making some Christmas gifts, wood and leather stuff, but I took Saturday as a mental rest day and modelled
Am also repairing a laser printer that has sat forever idle in my wife’s office. Get one thing fixed and need to order another part
Pretty much jingleballs deep in that project too :wall:

    Now for the modelling:
Drilled out the broken wires to the Pearl’s rear lamps as part of their R&R
Then rolled some more small coiled ropes for the cannons…didn’t look right with the demo one here so did smaller tan
This is the little jig for it. Tape stops the glue from sticking to the base.

    Image

    Image

Top side five done, bottoms ones to go
    Image

At least I moved this a bit forward. No more until gifts are done and wrapped :bash:

Its a real labor of love, so much detail being added. The last pic is a reminder of just how brilliant the wooden decking is, that's before you consider all the rope work and the other bits and pieces
Its been tried and tested, it works! So don't blame the system if you're no good.

The smell of Christmas dinner cooking is wafting up to my lab
Rainy dog walk soon, then Christmas meal😋

Spent some afternoon time at the model desk, tying knots for the main upper mizzenmast
0.8mm tan shroud lines and 0.7mm black lines for the deadheads….I have to write it in so as to not forget.
The rat lines will be 0.25 tan.

Close up of the canons finished off. Maybe a bit more weathering  we will see

All I need is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.

Well this is looking right spiffy latey, isn't it?

Going back to the beginning of the build to where it is now is a staggering accomplishment.

How sad, the Pearl left in dry dock
I did not get to her this Christmas break; was painting, lazing about and messing with other things.
I have a wall vs the sails and am dragging starting those.
Perhaps the Pearl will get going again soonish

Agreed. That's the problem when the build has been categorized by excellence. You know what its going to take if you continue at that level of commitment.
