Greetings from Fife
Hello everyone, my name is Dave and I have been actively building plastic models for about a year or so now after a break of about 30 years or so.
I prefere to work with 1:72/1:76 scale kits, but eager to broaden my horizons with other scales soon. I am still a beginner to this hobby, I like to experiment with different ways to go about things, like painting canopies/scraping excess or using decals strips for canopies, still trying to find out what works for me and gives best results.
Hope to pick up a lot of good tips and advice from fellow members here, share ideas and knowledge and have a laugh while going about it.
Dave.

Re: Greetings from Fife
Thank you everybody for the warm welcome
Just trying to work out how to go about producing a Work in progress thread to log my builds on or do I have to go about it build by build? (Dave is not the best with computers)
Once I work out how to get things set up and started, will get more active then with pics of current and past builds (hopefully no limit to the number of pics you can use like other sites have).
Dave.

Re: Greetings from Fife
If you could do each individual build as it's own thread that would be great Dave - Keeps it easy to search for members, and no, no limits on pictures here my friendTelegraphist wrote:Thank you everybody for the warm welcome![]()

Welcome Dave. I think the percentage of Scots in here is very cool. Don't let my signature block fool you. I'm an Edinburgh man but living in Tornado Alley USA for my sins. lol
All the best and if you haven't seen it yet we are just about to start our very first group build. Feel free to snoop around and join in the fun if you want. There is some great prizes too. Let us know if you have any questions.
See you around
Jim

How come you ended up Stateside Jim, my grand parents moved to American but came back due to the great depression in 1929/1930. My dad was 'created' over the pond in Dorchester, NY. but was born over here (just).
Dave.

Re: Greetings from Fife
I joined the Army when I was 18, then joined the Essex Police force when I got out and to be honest have not stopped moving around since. I'm having a great depression now mate.
Called missing Britain and Scotland in particular. But this is home now. I married an American woman and that's how I ended up staying. I came over on a job interview years ago and was offered a job if I wanted it. The rest as they say is history.
All the best and look forward to seeing you around.

You are not missing much here just now, weather has been decent last few days though. Edinburgh is recovering from a big farce with the trams, digging the place up for nothing. UK is not having the best time of things just now as you know, you be glad you escaped now.
Dave.

Re: Greetings from Fife
Fife has changed a bit, the Forth coast has got a huge oil terminal now near the bridges, great if you like watching small oil tankers off Kirkcauldy.
They are building another bridge, another change of scenery here.
Dave.
