Hasegawa Spitfire Mk.VIII 'U.S Army Air Force'

Post by Cruiser3004 »

My First build finished using my new (very cheap) airbrush, this build had me right out of my comfort zone with the Camo paint scheme and weathering etc (I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the weathering), but overall I am very happy with the result. Please feel free to critique as I am learning as I go.

Cheers Cruiser

Really like this one dude :th:

Nice spitfire.

The only thing I would have done is given a more dusty finish with the weathering as its a tropical variant. That's just my preference though.

Too much to list. !!

That is an unusual paint scheme for the Spit'. I knew the RAF had some American pilots flying them but I didn't know that the USAF had evaluated them. I like the degree of weathering that you have, it suits the model. Is this 1/72? If it is, it is a superb quality paint job :th: :th:
As a minor point, on your future kits it may be an idea to lay out sub-assemblies and decals on the instruction sheet before final assembly.

I really like this camo. When you get used to your airbrush you could put a little bit of exhaust back wash on her just a tinny bit. Not a criticism just an excuse to experiment :) You really got the camo right though. And try pigments if you get a chance can give great earth/dust/sand effects that really come in useful.
