Revell 1/48 F/A-18E Super Hornet

Post by Gav0909 »

Here is a picture review of my latest purchase, the Revell 1/48 Super Hornet

This is argued as being on par with the Hasegawa and Academy options, especially given the price tag (I picked this up for £15.60).

Box art

Instructions are just typical Revell, sprue maps, colour call-outs in Revell paints.

Huge decal sheet with I think 3 or 4 options on it.

Lower fuselage detail. The wheel well detail is nuts!

Tail planes, wing ends etc

All in all it looks to be a nicely detailed kit. Other reviews say there are some places where a bit of filler might be needed, but that's ok. I am getting the Aires resin cockpit for this and some AM decals. I also realise that one of the schemes on the AM decal sheet is actually in the kit anyway...durp!

But should build up nicely, and to a good size when done!

Cheers

Great review Gaveroni!!!
It looks a lot like the hornet that I have... including the wheel wells and the kit maker stamp on the wing.
Nice of them to do that eh?
Still... there's some crazy details doing on there.
It might be the pictures... but the plastic looks a bit odd.:
