Hey everyone, my name's Mic

Post by Foxley »

Hello everyone, I've been browsing these forums for about a month now, recently registered and thought it would be nice to actually participate instead of taking a back seat. So, to start things off a little differently, I started a YouTube channel and created my introduction as a video.

It is my first ever video, I wouldn't say I was nervous, more that I just didn't really know what to say! I also need to work on my positioning as it seems I like to show you things that you cannot see properly. :nena:

If you have any feedback on my video please do let me know. I've never uploaded to YouTube before and it took me quite a few attempts to get it right (that's the fourth upload!) Each time the quality wasn't right. My iPhone shoots in 720p and after editing in Sony Vegas 12 it comes in at a 320mb file for 10 minutes of footage... Quite a lot, that was a near 3 hour upload!

Blimey, that was a fast reply! Thanks a lot for the welcome and sub on youtube. I'm still figuring out my backside from my elbow on YouTube so you'll have to bare with me while I figure out what I'm doing and try to subscribe to others!

I also just realised that the figure group build is non-military.. Darn! Oh well, I have plenty of other figures I could potentially use.

:)

I'm in Humberside. :)
Ah humberside, was trying to pin the accent lol.

Yes sadly its a non military figure build, but you can always build those two another time :th:

Great first video, you seem nice and relaxed and come across very well on camera. Look forward to seeing more of your vids :cheers2:

Hi Mic, great to meet you. I enjoyed your video- impressive delivery sir. Nice subjects too. You can't beat an 0 gauge kit for fun and impact. You have a new subscriber and i look forward to seeing more. If you want to give that Class 50 a treat, get it some flush glaze windows. They really do give models a lift for not much money...http://www.shawplan.com/spcat.htm. I have some for a class 33 that I want to do up. The same link has etched name plates, and replacement fans and grills, its difficult to know where to stop! :th:

Thanks again everyone. It seems rail is a popular subject! Good, because I have plenty more to weather, though they aren't actually my models. The 0 Gauge wagon is though. I also have a 1/35 scale German Gondola wagon WIP and a WR360 C12 waiting to be built in the stash.

@Rob - I haven't seen those windows before, they certainly look a lot better than what you get included, however, since it isn't my model, I'll let the owner decide whether to upgrade it or not. I have found the majority of cheaper models tend to have a clear plastic insert for the windows so they don't sit flush. They're much easier to paint but just don't look as good. My own stock and locomotives I like to get looking as realistic as possible though I find getting replacement decals very expensive!

Thank you guys. Another video will be coming soon, I'm just trying to shake this damn cold I have. I'm pretty sure you all don't want to hear my croaky yet husky voice. I wake up in a morning and sound like Sean Connery!
