Hi from Lubbock, Texas!

I was raised in Yakima, Washington, where my best friend, (for 40 years now), & I built 1/72 scale WWI & WWII planes we were able to purchase at the time for $0.40 to $0.60 at the local drugstore. My, how times have changed! But, I'm loving it, seeing the addition of resin & photo-etched detail now available so I don't have to scratch-build every little thing! Not to mention the huge selection of decals & the myriad tools, paints, washes, weathering powders, etc. I've been out of the hobby for 43 years now, but I'm anxious to get started again. I threw together a little Polar Lights snap-together Enterprise NX-01 while I was in the VA drug & alcohol rehab center in Murphreesboro, Tennessee, that I plan to rebuild, since I never glued it. While I was there, I also picked up a couple of kits I tried getting my grandsons interested in, but they're too much into XBox, so I will be doing them myself; a Minicraft UH-60L Blackhawk Medical Evacuation kit in 1/48 scale, & a Tamiya PanzerkampfwagenIII Ausf.L Sd.Kfz.141/1 kit in 1/35 scale. And a few days ago, my youngest daughter & I were shopping at the local thrift store where I acquired Lindberg's "Jolly Roger" misnamed French frigate in 1/130 scale --- I'm working on it at the moment; will be a fantasy pirate ship from an alternate universe, which solves the controversy over what that model is actually supposed to represent, LOL! I spent 6-1/2 years in the Marines, working on the communications & navigation systems on A-6A/Es, & 3 years in the Army, working on the turrets of M-109 self-propelled howitzers, so I'm dying to get my hands on models of those! I'm really enjoying the forums, web sites, & YouTube channels for model building & look forward to sharing this terrific hobby with all of you!
