Returning to the hobby
Evening gentlemen,
I'm Davie, I live in Virginia, walking distance from a very special place in both pommy and US culture - if not for different reasons ;] Around seven or eight years ago, I got fed up with the IPMS culture - he who spends the most money wins the day - and modelling just stopped being fun to me. A few weeks ago, I drove by a hobby shop near me, went in, and have already resumed blowing large chunks of my pay on a weekly basis. The wife loves it.
I build almost exclusively Aircraft, and I've been in aviation in one way, shape or form for nigh on ten years and am currently an mechanic in the GA world. Even though I was a tanker in the Army, I've had much interest in armour models. So far, I've finished an Airfix Me109 'generic-G' in 72d and Academy's...venerable MiG-21 in 72d. I've had a few others near completion, but end up in the trash out of frustration. I'm currently making a valiant stand against a Trumpeter C model Hun and Airfix's new-tool Emil, both also in 72d.
Anyways, here's a pre-emptive 'glad to know you' and so on.

Thank you all for the welcomes. I'd just ask you all to have patience while I'm still learning the ropes of the forum here. If I do something wrong, I'm counting on you all to let me know.
