New product added to our range....... March 2014

Post by Lee »

Thinny Sponges.....

Image

Our Thinny Sponges are designed to compliment our Thinny Stick range. They come in one grit of 220, but being a softer sponge, it's equivelant to roughly a 300 grit, just like the full size Ultimate Modellers Sanders. This will prove to be your go to sander on your bench.

Hi guys,

recently buy the new thinnysticks pack (bought the multi pack ) and also buy the thinny sponges (the grey ones) .

Well ,they now are one of my favorites! Used them already in the two builds that i'm doing and I guess that they now are indispensable in my workbench .

They are really great !
Cheers ,
António

Did you guys ever ... endeavoured releasing similar files... with much less Foam padding ???
and a stronger core !!! (thicker) just asking....!

Sure.... those you are currently offering are nice for smoothing A/C bodies seam lines and rounded Car bodies.. but...
I find them fragile ! I end up putting a tear in them or Break the core ! I build Tanks and I would welcome something with more substance...!

I am currently using Professional Nail files... With little to no padding next to the Plastic Core ! and so
far so good a lot of hit and misses !!! I got good ones and some bad ones... I still tear the paper and at times
break the core strips... I know I'm tough with my tools.

but its always nice to have other brands to fall back to... that might offer ... different grits !
like you guys do ! from Medium to Smooth ! with a strong Core.

not to be taken as a Downer... Ultimate is a good brand !!! so don't shoot the messenger !
Maybe it will give you guys an Idea for future releases...???

I have seen the new shape.... Cool Idea... still too much padding for me !

Hey Norm

The new Thinny Sticks only have 1mm of padding, any less than this and they would disintegrate immediately.

I'd sure like to know how on earth you've managed to break the core, it's near on impossible to cut it, let alone break it....!!! You could only break that with pliers/vice and a strong force of will.....

Cheers

Lee
