Another Revell 1/72 Fw-190 R11

Post by chief5437 »

This is my second entry for the nightfighter GB. This is a bit of a monster update, so consider yourselves warned! :hand:

Box art and sprues

Image

The strangest destruction layout I've ever seen!:

Image

And the clear parts.... :wall: I'm not having much luck with these lately, am I?
When I saw the state of the canopy, I knew this would be a 'throw it together and move on' affair! :shhh:
Image

Cockpit done, didn't go daft as you won't be able to see through the bloody clear parts anyway! :pistols:
Image

Main assy done, fit was really good, only this one wing root that needs filling.
Image

Started on the paint work. You can see here that not only is the canopy horrible quality, it also doesn't fit at all! Normally I'd try and build this up with card, but I was losing my rag with clear parts after the Defiant debacle so I left it as is.
Image

Radar fitted. I also replaced the kit guns and pitot with brass tube.
Image

Decals and a wash, and a bit of gun smoke!
Image

Few more final touches, and we're done! Over to the reveal section :eeek:

I'm really hoping the next kit is going to be a bit more enjoyable!! Lol! :cheers2:

To suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous styrene is good for the soul...maybe! Great job again despite the challenges :th:

Looks like your kit was a bit better fitting than mine :th: and I like the paint job. But you are right the clear parts of this kit are shameful and really let it down :( which is a pitty because the rest of the kit is quite well done if you don't mind a bit of flash.
