Re: Mannloon's Tamiya Jagdpanther Late build
Thanks very much boys. I'll tell you, putting on the schurzen before the tracks has turned in to a nightmare. I'm having huge issues getting these semi-glued Bronco workable tracks on without Destroying the tank. I wish I'd just made them like Magic Track, that would have been so much easier. Lesson learned.
I'm trying to assemble the tracks, wheels and such to start the final weathering as one piece. And finish the tow cables and spare bits, but man it's fighting me. It's like it doesn't want to be finished.

Re: Mannloon's Tamiya Jagdpanther Late build
So I got the tracks on. I know that may not sound complicated or difficult to you guys, but it was a miracle the stupid way I had to go about doing it. In the end had semi-glued them to fit the idler and sprocket but going the wrong way in regards to the handed tracks which Broncos are. So at the last minute I had to flip them, which has cause some bad fitting on the left idler. I may address this at some later date, I don't know. For some reason the right side tracks would not fit, even though they fit my other Tamiya Panther just fine. I had to do up a single track link (prime, base, wash) to fit and get them to fit on the tank. Again, those Bronco tracks only work as fully glued Magic Track style tracks, they are super annoying. And I messed them up with my inexperience.
So left to do, which I'm going to try and get done either tomorrow or Sunday.
Repaint the tow cables with a gray/black mix. Wash and dry brush them.
Touch up the spare track links, wash them.
Do a matching wash on the road wheels (maybe should have done that before I glued the wheels on) so it looks more like the hull. Feels a bit yellow now. The burnt umber wash came off a bit in the dot filter.
Then the final weathering bits, some focused washes on the wood black, and pigments. hopefully subtle.
Here are some shots I took with her tracks on.
by the way the tracks around the sprocket in this pic are coming apart on the left, this is the kind of crap these tracks do to me all the time. Should have just glued them from day 1.

Still have to repair (scratch build) a replacement inertial starter for the rear. you can see on the left that it's half gone.

Track sag isn't as good as I wanted it, but it'll have to do.

TRACKS!!!
I feel your pain, having had issues of my own with the Zvezda Tiger's tracks.
Remember two things; breathe in, breathe out.
Jagdpanther looks awesome, by the way!

Thanks guys, almost finished her tonight. Did some pigments I really liked on the tracks, then when I tried to fix them it got clumpy and darker than I wanted. So I'm trying to get a grip on that. Then I just need to weather match the tow shackles as I'd forgotten to paint them and I'm done.

Re: Mannloon's Tamiya Jagdpanther Late build
OK. I'm calling this one done. There are tons of things that aren't perfect (track sag for one), or that I could continue to work on. But I think for my sanity, I need to let this one go and just move on to the next one. I'll be posting the pics in here as well as in the reveal section. I just want to thank Paul Ayrey for helping me out while I stumbled through this one. It was an awesome experience, I learned a lot.

Even made a little youtube turnaround video. Thought about talking like some of the guys do, but I'm not ready for that whole thing.
