I could remove the canopy that's true Nige, but I'm worried it'll pull off a load of paint, besides wouldn't the Testors lacquer munched into the plastic of the canopy? Patience is a problem for me....

Might be a good idea to get some klear mate it's great to dip canopies in gets rid of small scratches and a extra shine. Also if you make a mistake re-dip it in the klear and the old klear will lift off giving you a nice clean shinny canopy again.
I've used it loads of times always messing my canopies up lol
