I posted a idea before but this was brewing for a while aswell
Take on the challenge : any kit , period or subject but to use upgrades in that build
Like photo etch , resin and even scratch building
Simply anything to increase your skills
This way you can build whatever you want but the goal would be to put your self to the test and come up with a model that you would be proud of and would take to a modelshow (i would be very strickt with that and would only take my very best builds to such a thing)
Just explain what is is that is new to you or what it is that you would like to improve on
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

planemaker wrote:Ok, I'll put some suggestions, see if you like them:

Aces GB -Any aircraft or vehicle that was flown/driven by an ace like the Red Baron's Fokker Dr.1 for example...

Racing GB -Any racing car, motorcycle, boat, aircraft etc.

Prototype GB -Just prototypes!

Airliners SiG -Any civilian airliner/transport aircraft.

Biplane GB -Any biplane -an airplane with two wings.

Weird weapons GB -Just a really strange and unusual weapon.

Movie stars GB -Any aircraft, vehicle, ship etc. from a movie.

No styreen GB -No styreen kits, just resin, metal, vac foarm etc.

Old school GB -Any vintage kit that is at least 30 years old. (A reboxed kit would be allowed.)

Small scales GB -Only tiny models.

Captured GB -Any captured vehicle or aircraft etc.

Not bad Sebastian, not bad at all
We are on the same wavelength with ANY race car etc as it keeps it wide open for a lot of options
I like the old school and small scale ideas as well

If I may suggest a diorama build of anything from movie or historical event....... fact or fiction
A floaty thing build, of any kind, would be fun as well
Gotta have a vehicle build of some sort for 2016 too
:cheers2: to all for a good weekend

Don't know if it's been suggested, but maybe a winter GB. Any kit in a winter setting. Kind of opposite to the desert GB, lol!

how about a 'nose art' SiG, any scale, any era although WWII onward would probably favourite

perhaps this could also include Russian script on tanks?

How about a kit-bashing GB/SIG. I was kinda inspired by the AT-ST builds Paul and Coen did. You can make great stuff by using more than 1 model or some parts in your spares box. The possibilities are endless.

I have some thing kinda strange. What about a Modern day American Revolution. A British Challenger Versus a U.S. Abrams?
Or what about a modern Civil War, we could have a dio with Confederation Marines assaulting New York.

How's about "What did you do in the War Daddy?" GB, a tribute to a family member.
Whether your great uncle was ground crew during the Battle of Britian or your Dad was a PFC in Vietnam.
Yes.. It is supposed to look like that!

MY TWO CENTS!

If I may suggest: A GB for camo & painting schemes never used, like American Su-27 or Russiam F-14s named "WHAT IF?"

some pretty cool (and some bizarre!) schemes you may find here => http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php ... 821.0.html

Some examples:

Image
Israeli F-105

Image
F-8 Crusader in Danish colors

Image
Russian Mirage V

Image
or Phantoms... (I loved the "Topgunski" !!)

Image
Finish P-47

Image
Even a F9-F Panther from Brazilian Navy!

Image
Bell P-39 from Argentina

Image
Or Tomcats from the Pampas!

Image
Portuguese Fishbeds !

Any modern vehicle. aircraft, ship, etc used from 19XX to 2016
what would if look like if it was used in WWII..

for example a M-1 Abrams tank. what would it look like if it was used in the "Battle of the Bulge" or" the Kursk" either by the American, british , Germans or Soviets..
the possibilities are endless. this would take allot of imagination and creativity.
This sounds like a very interesting idea. It could be something like the movie Final Countdown where a USS Nimitz from 1980s get's sent into the past through a portal to 1941 before the Pearl Harbor attack.

"Specific country": Suggestions: France, Finland, Poland, Sweden... (feel free to suggest your own)

"Falklands": any vehicle from the Falkland's conflict.

"IDF/IAF"/"Middle east": any vehicle that was or is operated by a Middle Eastern country.

SiGs:

"Man down"/"Guardian angel": any Medevac vehicle (Black hawks, Strykers, etc.)

Otto Carius (27 May 1922 – 24 January 2015)

So that would give you a choice of:

Panzer 38(T)

Early Tiger

Mid Tiger

I have a few ideas:

Victorian GB: any figure, vehicle, (not much more that can be built!) from the Victorian era

Between two giants: any subject from the inter war year (doesn't have to be millitary)

King of the anphibs: any amphibious vehicle (not a boat or float plane) from any era

Bravo team out: any vignette or diorama that features special forces or elite soldiers from any era

Civie to milli: any civilian vehicle that has been put into millitary service

Maybe a simple General Aviation build! Anything from GA from any country. (Cessna, Beech Craft, Experimental, Aerobatic.... ) something from the roots of aviation..
