Nikola, I really like the colors you have given her and the wear marks and exhaust stains are perfect.

When I make tarps with tissue my general mix is to parts water for one part white glue. As for the number of tissues, that may be a personal choice, but normally I begin with 2-3 as one normally becomes far too fragile. When using more than one tissue, make sure to clean up and unify the edges (uniformed thickness). Next I determine what kind of tarps they will be (small or large, thin or thick, canvas or cloth, etc.), where they are located (meaning what are they covering and why); all of this to make them part of the modeling story. Once they are dry I look at the detailing of the tarps for instance, hems or seams, eyelets both with and without rope for tie downs, then the painting and shading begins.

I really like your build and am looking forward in seeing the final reveal. GREAT JOB!

Ben

Hi Ben,

Thank you, I am glad you like it so far.

Also, thank you very much for the tips! Much appreciated!
Didn't think of the details, but now I will have a more thorough look at them definitely, especially the eyelets.

I primed the tarps in black and the next step is painting and weathering.

Will update soon I hope.

Best,
Nikola

Hi BigWall,

Thank you! Appreciated. :)

Definitely arm yourself with patience, but it is worth it no doubt. Very fun project, at least for me it was because I just love this plane. :)

Looking forward to seeing your build!

Best,
Nikola

Hi gents,

This seems to work so far - tarps primed and painted with Tamiya Buff base coat.

Next, dry brushing and weathering.

Best,
Nikola

A few more photos without the cling film protection...
It needs some edge cleaning and making it conform tightly to the shape which should't be a problem.
I am planning to fix them with a liquid mask so it is not cemented to the fuselage forever.

Thanks for looking!

Best,
Nikola
