Bottom decals on, and placed some of the gear doors. I need to go back and spray the actual landing gear, they're still in their primer coat. Wheels are still on the sprue too!

Great to see this back on the bench - I love that scheme, it stands out so well against the metallic finish.
And yeah dust is a perennial problem for me too...

Thank you! I'm looking forward to finishing this one and clearing off the bench of all the half finished projects.Tomcat64 wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 3:12 pm Great to see this back on the bench - I love that scheme, it stands out so well against the metallic finish.

As for today, got around to painting the rest of the landing gear doors. Also painted the landing gear struts with Vallejo Metal Color Steel over Alclad Gloss Black. Wheels got primed after I temporarily miss placed them. Was a fun 30 minutes looking for them.
Lastly, put the nose gear door on. Good engineering on this kit has made the landing gear doors simple to get on. Unlike most other aircraft kits I've come across.

I agree, the silver metal looks good.

Made some headway with the F-86. The Dspiae circle cutter came in super handy making the wheel masks! Such a cool piece of modelling gear.
Turns out that this aircraft is a bit of a tail sitter. So I may just glue some weights into the nose gear well. Or 3d print a 50 gallon drum to stick under the tail.
Shelf space is a problem I hadn't thought about. I may need to start prioritizing what gets to stay on the shelf and what gets tossed. On the other hand, I'm planning on moving sometime later this year. With that, I may donate a large amount of my models to a local museum/airfield.
Still have a few little weathering things to do before calling this one done. Though, all the major assembly and painting is complete. I'll have to break out the photo booth for glamour shots when it's done.
Of note, Imgur was not taking my uploads. All these pictures are hosted via my website.
