Egg Paul and Lee help build an egg plane

I got them both primed with Alcad gloss black primer. This is the first time using Alcad and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I put on two coats and let it dry for about two hours. The F-86 Sabre was painted with Alcad Dura-Aluminum and the Mik-15 with Alcad Aluminum.

First coat.




Here they are with the two coats of alcad and all the masking taken off. I will put the decals on tonight and I think I have a special visitor coming tonight too.

I started the decals last night and all of a sudden there was a knock on the door. We had a special guest. He wanted to help put on the decals. WELCOME COEN!!! Looks like he brought some armor(still in progress).



I was glad he was there to help. I purchased some decals from ebay to apply on the F-86 sabre. As soon as I would take out the decal from the water it would fall apart. Every single one. As soon as I touched it it would disintegrate. So I had to go to plan B. I had to use whatever decals I could find around the bench. This is what I came up with. Unfortunately I will add some more after the build is over. I did use microsol and microseal when applying the decals. This how it turned out. I still want to put a wash on the panel lines and I hope to do it tonight. You can see that on the final reveal. Thanks for looking!!!

this is a great way to present a build
too bad egg Coen didn't have his tiger
but then again these are big so he could have bumped in on the planes
and the results are very inpresive too i like them a lot
