Well, if I have not mentioned already Willem, my Tiger arrived yesterday.
Its the 1/35 Tamiya Tiger 1 Early Production and I'm going to go for the A designation.
I have a RB Models Barrel and Fruimodels Tracks on way from Poland to compliment build.
Will I get it done though before 1.1.15? :eeek:
We'll see  .
Had a quick squizz through box contents yesterday evening and everything looks good.
Been told by those in know that it is an easier and enjoyable build.
Hope you find the right model to compliment your unused Armour Fingers (the Dragon version I was eyeing up was probably for the more experienced modeller, and I am sure not that yet).
Have fun,
John

Hey John,

Sounds a very good (and complex) kit and looking forward to seeing you build it mate.
:pop:

Still not sure which kit or even scale I'm going to build but having fun doing some research.

:cheers2:

PS Am I right in thinking this starts on 1st Jan?

Hi mate,

I was thinking it ended on the 1.1.15?

Think I may have to clarify with host.

Appreciate the heads up, its my fault for being a blithering old buffer and being raring to go now and having to rein myself in :eeek:
See Willem knew
As normal, the world knows what is going on, and I'm on a different planet.
I almost fancy though that I won't be able to wait till the 1st, and have this Tamiya Tiger 1 in my grubby paws and will build before date.
Oh well, just have to get another.....
Appreciate PM, thanks.

Can one do a king tiger old sport or is one restricted to baby tigers? I would prefer hunting the larger predator before a spot of tiffin.

So essentially, as far as I see it anyway people are limited to any of the slight variants of the Tiger 1. Initial, early, mid and late. The Sturmtiger or a Bergetiger would be fine as they are built on the chassis of the Tiger 1.

I wouldn't go that far, there not my rules I'm just going on what Devon said, seeing as the tiger 1 is Coens favourite then that's what it'll be.

Saw this go on ebay a few days ago for $60 shipped but didn't pull the trigger. Not sure why I didn't as I'd been looking for it for months.Solid guide horns on the tracks would make it at least $20-$35 in AM at least. But I still may buy it at some point.

Hi guys. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has joined so far and to those who join between now and when the SIG starts. I just wanted to clerify that this SIG is for the TIGER I Tank only. any scale or kit of the Tiger I. That is Coen's favorite tank and id like to keep it to just that tank only. Thank you for understanding. Sorry for any confusion that has happened up to this point.

Thank you for understanding. Sorry for any confusion that has happened up to this point.

Rivet counter's heads will explode. Coen may pee himself with laughter. Either result would be worth it.

Tamiya's 1/25th mid production..... With a tiger
Nice.
No pee though.

You'll find a wealth of information both on this site and on Coen's youtube channel (among others). Coen's videos are full of tips and information that will help build-up your skills very quickly.

That's why this GB is to honour him and his contributions that have benefited many modellers (and recently, goat lovers too).

Hi guys,

I just wanted to give a little update on things. First thing is that i wanted to let you know there are going to be prizes for this build. I am donating one of my kits from my stash as well as i have had another kit donated to me as a prize. I was talking to Paul when i first came up with this idea. He was talking about Ultimate putting up something as well. If anyone would like to donate anything please PM me. it doesnt have to be a kit.

I also wanted to let you know that we will be doing the judging of the winners a little bit differently than we are used to. We are going to have 3 very special guest judges. My son Nathan and my daughter Savannah as well as Mike's daughter Cate are all going to be the judges for this. I am not going to be eligible for prizes obviously but that is totally fine with me. I want this to be a low pressure FUN build for everyone. I dont want the judging to be about who has the most talent or who posts the most info in the forums. Now i still would like to see updates of course posted in the forums or even videos if you would like. This is going to be judged through the eyes of children. They will vote on which ones they think look the best or are the coolest!

Lets just keep it fun and laid back. Everyone at any stage in their modelling should feel welcome to join. You just never know what a kid might think looks cool. Mike is a big one for promoting the younger modelers. So this is one way to get some of the kids into it as well. All of our kids are VERY excited to be the judges.

I will post what the prizes will be later on once i have all of them arranged. I will tell you that the two kits that are up for grabs right now are VERY nice kits!

Thank you again for everyone who has and will join this.

Outstanding ideas.
Not bothered myself about prizes but encouraging next generation modellers is a terrific idea and is a good enough reason.

Hi.

I'd like to second John's words. Great idea to get youngsters involved and I'm not in it to win it  Just looking forward to building a target... sorry Tiger.
