All the tools and detail parts were picked out using the new Mig Tools paint set, it brush paints very nice and the colours look good too although i did use the panzer aces old and new wood as i think the colours are better. the metal tool faces were painted in the gunmetal colour and, once dry i then gave them a light enamel rust wash, followed by a brown/black oil wash, i removed any excess and this gave a very nice effect, showing a metallic rusty grimy effect. Using the old wood paint i painted the tool handles then dry brushed the new wood over the top plus doing small random streaks of the new wood too, i then used a damp cotton bud before the paint dried blending it together. I then added small oil wash black/brown wear marks to the handles.

The exhausts were painted a dark rust base colour ready for weathering at a later stage.

Trying different techniques and stages than i normally do myself as tend to over complicate AFV weathering so big thanks to Coen for giving me some advice along the way to the way his does his weathering, cheers buddy :thumb2:

Exhausts rust base coated and the jack done the same as the tool faces but still wet here :thumb2:

Managed to get a nice, royal model panther commander for the build

I assembled him tonight and will prime and paint him through the week :thumb2:

Nice figure, well detailed with minimal cleanup required.

Cheers fellas, been busy on this the last two days.

Got the tracks painted, used Ammo Dark rust, i then dry brushed using humbrol metalcoate aluminium. Once dry i applied a Ultimate rust wash and when dry a Ultimate mud wash, once dry i wipe dog what i could leaving the metal showing through. I also also fuel and oil stains using Ammo engine Oil and fuel wash, i thinned it 50% applying in a larger random shaped area and then once dry used it neat to apply a thicker stain to the middle. I used the same wash on the wheel hubs too. The tracks road wheels and schurzen plates on too.

Using Ammo rust streaks i applied various length rust streaks to the chipping applying randomly all over the tank.

I then used life colours rust and dust set to paint the exhaust. I started with the same dark rust i use don the tracks then slowly built up the different rust tones dry brushing each layer. Once happy with the colour i dry brushed lifecolor smoke to the exhaust tips, happy with the effect and don't think i need to add any pigment effects

Lastly I've got the PE Star and stab antennas built up primed painted and oil washed, i also painted the spare track licks with dark rust and again using the life colour rust set built up the rust effects dry brushing finally using Ultimate rust and dark sort washes.

Looks awesome Paul. Glad you got the 'over prominent' rust sorted! Lol!

Shame you always use really expensive paints and washes, what about us mere mortals that can't afford that stuff?! Pmsl! Oh I forgot, that's not your effing problem! Lol!

Great work mate, nice one ;)

SS units had black and Heer units early in the war did as well. Most Heer units were a greenish grey.
