As promised on the news show I'm going to enter this SiG and complete it if it kills me...lol

This is what I'm entering.....

I also have the ATAK zimmerit for it. I picked this kit up for a stupidly cheap £25 so, could afford to get the add on zim for it. It also came with a brass antennae and some extra etch covers...

Never attempted anything armour on this scale before especially with over 600 pieces! Little bit daunting, but really want to have a crack at it and do it justice. Was going to review it, but I understand it's OOP now so, won't bother :D
Where does all the bloody time go.....?

i have a set of friul tracks for it and nothing else really
but i want to keep it simple as i have 2 big builds at the moment and i want to finish my big tiger sometime soon so maybe a small base but no big diorama (for now)
The plan is to make it look like Otto's Tiger so i will do some research to see if the colors and scheme are correct for this tank

What about combining into this then?

Technically its a Tiger 1 - modified - there was no actual Sd Kfz number generated (Italeri jumped the gun) and actually, its not a Berge recovery vehicle at all, but most likely a landeslager....demolition explosive layer....

I'm quite packed with groups builds at the moment but if I can get my hands on this new release from Dragon I'm defo entering it in here :dance:

It's the tiger but with the original Henschel turret and the 75mm gun from the very first production of panthers (hence the round muzzle break)

I picked mine up on spec - wanted a Bergepanther and the chap had the Bergetiger too, so thought why not! Then I found out its not a recovery vehicle at all...

Thinking of building a Tamiya Early Tiger. I'd love to get a Dragon Tiger w/ Zim but I havent found one within my budget.

Maybe I can find a Late Dragon between $60-70 :scratch::

Well I found a Dragon 6600 for $54 shipped. Or I could go for a Tamiya Early for $45 shipped....

Yeah. I think $9 more will be worth it just for the better options and better quality tracks. Although I'm thinking about getting some Fruilmodel tracks and maybe a AM barrel.
There are a lot of pictures of Tiger 123, so I may go that route.

Just ordered the Tamiya Tiger I Initial Production kit:

They apparently made three!

"'BergeTiger' found on a roadside in Italy in 1944, it seems because of terminal engine problems. There is no record of such name in the Waffenamt and none were found later of the same type. Whereas this vehicle was built on purpose and one of a kind "field experiment" or possibly three converted from gun-disabled models is today still subject to debate. Because of its excessive weight, regulations strictly forbid any attempt of towing a disabled Tiger by another one. Regulations and field experiments showed that a troika of Sd.Kfz 9 heavy half-tracks was necessary for the operation."

Yes I believe so....grab ur kit and post a thread in the coen tiger 1 SIG under builds
