1/48 A-37B DragonFly

Post by jamesmk7 »

Let me post a 1/48 this time, I don't build many 48's anymore, old eyes and 1/32 is just....cooler. Anywho, I built this gem back in 1980. Believe it or not, it's the old Aurora T-37, highly modified to create an A-37B DragonFly. If anyone remembers the old Aurora kit, detail was never used to describe it. Why did I use it, cause it was the only thing around at the time.
For this I only used the fuselage, wings, horizontal stabs and wheels.

The refueling probe and humps was made from Aluminum tubing and thin sheet aluminum.

Canopies were vacuformed from the originals and the cockpit, instrument and seats were scratchbuilt.

Hi

Nice job, I can see your trade skills come in handy. I am a aircraft engineer myself no longer on the tools moved over to the dark side and I am now a production manager.

Great job on an old kit. Like the colour scheme.
