Lighting

Post by ForbesHutton »

So along with halogen pot-lights in the basement, I use 3 desk lamps on the desk. New windows in the basement reduce the natural light coming in even more, so I want to upgrade the bulbs from the 23w CFL in them now.
So, first question, what's the prefered light tone- white, soft white or daylight?
I'm thinking of 14w LEDs which (according to the manufacturer equal a 100w incandescent), too much? Or should I use 10w LEDs (60w incandescent)?
All the lamps are rate 60w only one has a label that also says a max of 13w ballasted CFL, and of course my current CFLs are 23w. Will the 14w LEDs run cooler than 23w CFLs?

You want 6500k Daylight tubes if possible, that will give the best light and less eye strain too
