Them tricky injector pin marks

Hi all,

Hope everyone is modeling hard and having a hoot of a time.

Sorry if this has been asked some where on here, but I have tried to look for it with no luck. I'm looking to up my game on a Meng British Heavy Tank mk5 Male and have found some injector pin mark. non are on the outside of the kit, all our internal. But as you guy may know this kit has a full interior which I WILL be going all out for so, my question is;

How should I go about getting ride of injector pin marks?

I think it really depends on the depth of the EPM. I've been using Mr. Dissolved Putty on a trimmed toothpick for very shallow EPMs. You'll have to let it sit at least overnight to firm up and set. It may even take a couple applications because it is putty and it will shrink a little as it settles in. I've also used super glue on top to take care of any air holes or cracks that present themselves.

Gap filling super glue alone can also suffice. But you need to make sure you sand it down after 20 minutes or so. If you leave super glue too long it will harden and be a real chore to sand down.

I've also used dissolved sprue in Tamiya Extra Thin. That stuff takes a REALLY long time to cure......DAYS depending how thick it is. When I've sanded it down I got a lot of air pockets that needed to be filled with another medium.

You'll have to experiment around. Also keep in mind if you fill an EPM, will it be accessible to sand down? Hope this was somewhat helpful, albeit a bit late. Good luck.

Agree with above
A little Ca glue onto of your filler helps a lot to harden the surface layer and is self levelling
I use Mr Surfacer1000, let it set overnight and Ca glue on top....then can sand without ditching once ca glue sets

I will look into these method to see which one fits for me.

If they are awkward to sand or just too deep i fill them with, yup, filler. I find using a flat chisel hobby knife blade to scrape them level reduces any required sanding to a minimum.
