Wanting to scratch build some 1/72nd computer displays.

Hey guys, I want to add some cockpit detail to my Ranger, and I can't find anything here or on the internet (I did search, didn't just run here first haha) Has anyone done this? I have some sheet white and clear styrene. I was thinking maybe magazine cutouts of the right size, layered under some clear styrene, has anyone tried this? I was also thinking some lighting behind the displays (very dim) might make them seem more realistic. That part sound like it almost might be a requirement. Thanks in advance for any information you have for me. (Or can point me to an article that I couldn't find)

Yikes! How big would that screen be? It sounds like you have some really neat ideas but you'll probably have to blaze the trail.
