hind Mi 24

Post by Timplastic »

I have been meaning too start this thread for quiet a few months
So i must apologise too Paul, as it was him and my self that started the idea of a hind build before Telford. Paul got a great deal on a hind and then pointed me in the direction of another great deal. After getting the hind at a nice price it ended up snow balling into buying every extra we could find and a lot of great reference material.
So several months later  I'm now getting this thread started
I have been working on the hind for several months now so there is a few photos too share of the progress. the cockpit has been trimmed and made ready for paint and fitting. The front wheel well has had the pipes and wiring added. The seats in the rear cargo area has had the belts and a few other details added
pics and text too follow
I like to know what you think even if it is critique , If you spotted it let me know
Trying to finish what I started, and take part

Too start the build I trimmed up the verlinden resin. This stuff is super good, great detail and the fit is near perfect

As you can see in the last pic i have also added some missing detail too the rear seat
I added seat belts, missing strengthening bars and the springs that hold the seat up when stowed
Image
the next area of detail was the auxiliary generator exhausts. Now I'm not totally sure its added extra detail but i enjoy doing these things Image
I had too make quiet an elaborate frame too mount themImage

Next up is the front wheel bay. Now from the pics in the book there was a lot of detail too add. there is a lot of missing strengthening bars wiring and hydraulics linesImage
The white plastic parts i made from plastic card, the etch is what comes in the eduard set.
Image
This is it finished up with all the lines added and the front metal landing gear and the resin wheels. I had too remake the latch that locks the landing gear leg in flight as the eduard part came loose and was eaten by the carpet. I was happier with the new item
Next up is getting the cockpit and rear area painted and then start detailing the wheel area. To get that looking right for the exact model we are building i need too cut and scratch quit a lot of detail. so really looking forward too it
