Tamiya 1/72 F-16 "To Prove Lee Wrong" :) - Final Reveal

Post by PrivateMansoor »

Here is the final reveal,

Once again as mentioned in the build, I think this is a great kit especially for the price your getting. This kit has been brush painted. I am no expert so I'm guessing someone with more experience can make this kit into a much better version than me.

After building this kit, here are my pros and cons

Pros

Simple to build,
not many fit issues,
engraved panel lines (rarity for such an old model kit)
Cheap to buy,
It comes with so many extras:
Weapon loadouts for so many different combinations
Extra missile racks for aftermarket or spare missiles or bombs.
Extra Road Warrior Antenna - which I used on my version of this kit.
Decals for 4 different versions
Option for a 2 seater or a 1 seater

Cons

The cockpit lacks detail and might need to be scratch built.
The panel lines are not as deep as needed in some places - you might have to use a hobbyknife on them.
The decals are glossy and need to be matt coated

All in all I think after building this kit, I must disagree with Lee's review. I highly recommend it, especially if you want to build a few F-16's.

Very well done and specially for a hand painted model, can hardly tell it is! :thumb2:

Thanks all, brush painting isnt so bad, but I prefer it with enamels as acrylics just dont seem to have a smoother finish when painting with a brush.

In any case as this is an enamel painted model, I waited a week to post some more pictures, so here they are, hope it looks a little better than it did last week.

These are the final final pictures :)
