Poll for ISM's first ever GB....

Post by Lee »

Let's have a vote on what everyone would like to see for our first ever Group Build....

We're going to make the choices ultra generic and have era's (cheers for the idea Gav :) ), so most people should have something in their stash to be getting in on it with.

It'll be totally open, meaning you can build anything you like from that era be it armour, aircraft, floaty things, cars, motorbikes, figures or dioramas etc, absolutely anything OK.....

The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy each others efforts.....

We'll close the poll after one week (6pm (GMT) 5th June 2013) to give every one a chance to vote...

For those that are unsure what a Group Build is....

A group build is where everyone on the forum (who wants to participate) gets together and picks a mutual subject to model. They usually run over a span of time and everyone who's entered posts up their progress (in pictures) as they build the model with a final reveal and showcase at the end. There are usually a specific set of loose rules to say if it's got to be OOB or you can add extras such as PE or decals etc. This GB is only going to be era specific instead of a more localised subject. There's never a rush and we will allow enough time to participate in the GB and do all your usual modelling at the same time.

It's great fun and gets everyone working together towards the same goal and helps to get modellers out of their usual comfort zone and try something else.... :D

I went for Modern era only because I don't have a stash built up yet. lol But I am sure there will be many group builds covering many topics so either way it's all good. Give me an excuse to try a build of anything and follow along with everyone else.

Either way; whatever era is chosen; this is going to fun and that's what matters.

Cheers

Would you Consider Allowing Paper Tigers In your Group Build? i.e. e-100 or Maus and the like? So that the None WWII luvers can play?

I sort of liquidated my WWII selection. And can we also include or allow Pre WWII tanks like the T-28 and T-35. Land Cruisers from Russia? and anything similarly obsolete tanks or vehicles that were in inventory at the Beginning of WWII?

Just asking!

Norm - If it is WWII that wins out (can't see any other result at the moment...lol) then as long as what ever you want to build was in service and used in some way shape or form in WWII then it could be included :)

Paper tigers didn't get used in service though, just development (if I remember correctly), personally I think they would be ok though.

Anyway if not? I will start washing off the "Goat fat" release Agent from my ICM kits!

i went for WW2, the only model i have left in my stash is a WW2 kit :D
but i think because this is the forums first groupbuild, it should be broad subject, to get as many people involved as possible.

Is that a top tip?! I've not done an ICM kit before but I'm considering getting one. I've heard good things about them.

Not sure if I am too late to have my democratic voice heard but I would also perk for WWII, only because WWII is all that I really build.
Could go for WWI next year to match with the centenary of the start.
